鶹ֱapp named best in Canada, top 20 in the world by QS world rankings
The University of Toronto ranks best in Canada and among the top 20 universities in the world, according to today’s release of the 2014 QS World University Rankings.
The report also ranked 鶹ֱapp first in Canada in all discipline areas: arts and humanities, engineering and technology, life sciences and medicine, natural sciences, and social sciences and management.
Since 2011, the University has consistently ranked in the top 25, and since 2013 has maintained the top spot in Canada.
The QS rankings scored universities by academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio and citations per faculty, among other categories. 鶹ֱapp scored 13th for academic reputation.
“We are pleased to be recognized once again as the premier university in Canada, and to be named among the world’s very best,” said 鶹ֱapp President Meric Gertler. “Our continued strong performance in the QS rankings is a testament to our world-class education and research, as well as the excellence of our faculty, staff and students.”
Alongside 鶹ֱapp, four other Canadian universities were ranked among the top 100 schools: McGill University, University of British Columbia, Université de Montréal and University of Alberta.
The QS World University Rankings – widely considered among the most influential international university rankings – have been published since 2004, collecting 90,000 survey responses and evaluating more than 850 universities over 10 years.
鶹ֱapp’s strong academic and research performance continues to rank high this year – in August, the university was named the by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Academic Ranking of World Universities.
